Las Lajas Sanctuary:
(Spanish: Santuario de Las Lajas) is a basilica church located in the southern Colombian Department of Nariño, municipality of ipiales and built inside the canyon of the Guáitara River.
The present church was built in gothic Revival style between 1916 and
1949. The name ´´Laja´´ comes from of one rock flat sedimentary.
This is a beautiful place surrounded by mountains.
This is the second biggest lake of the country.
It is located 20 Km. from Pasto.
It is a natural stream that comes from a glaciaer.
La Cocha is a beautiful and expansive mountain lake,
although a lot of it is ecological in nature. is unique and a rewarding spot to
visit.
Volcano Cumbal:
Many lava flows extend from the Cumbal volcano, the
southernmost historically active volcano of Colombia. The eruptions in 1877 and
1926 are the only known historical activity from Cumbal. the thermal springs
are located on the SE.
Volcano Galeras:
Galeras volcano is located in southern Colombia close
to the border with Ecuador. The volcanic complex consists of small calderas,
cinder cones and a stratovolcano.
The city of Pasto is located on the eastern part of
Galeras. The volcano Galeras is one of the volcanos most active of Colombia.
Volcano Chiles:
Chiles is a volcano on the
border of Colombia and Ecuador. It lies 3 km south-east of the volcano Cerro
Negro de Mayasquer, and the two peaks are considered part of the Chiles-Cerro volcanic complex.
Volcano Azufral:
Is a volcano located in the department of
Nariño in southern Colombia, 12 km west of the town of Túquerres. The volcano
has an altitude of 4,070 metres, and in the north-western side of the crater
there is a lake named Laguna Verde. The green color of the lake is of the
sulfur and iron in the crater. There are also two other much smaller lakes in
the crater, Laguna Negra and Laguna Cristal.
Hill black of mayasquer:
The Cerro
Negro is a stratovolcano with a 1.8 km crater opening to the west. The lava
flows of Holocene age and solfataras that there is on the shore of a small
crater lake are signs of recent volcanic activity.
Doña Juana-Cascabel
Volcanic Complex:
Is a
Colombian National Natural Park. The park is located in the South of
departments of Nariño and Cauca; The park is named after three volcanoes which
are Doña Juana, petacas and Animals. These are in the municipalities of El
Tablón, San Bernardo, La Cruz, San Pablo in Nariño Department, and Bolívar,
Santa Rosa in the Cauca Department.
